Past Campaigns and Activities (2020 – 2022)
Mishkati Foundation began its work by organizing numerous charitable campaigns and convoys, distributing food and in-kind aid to the most needy families in the governorates of Ismailia, Suez, Beni Suef, Fayoum, Giza, and others. These efforts improved the living conditions of more than 1,500 families.
The foundation also organized free and discounted clothing fairs at the start of the school years to meet the needs of hundreds of impoverished families in Upper Egypt, the Delta, and the outskirts of Cairo.
During religious seasons, the foundation conducted Ramadan campaigns to distribute food boxes and cash assistance to over 2,000 families, particularly widows and female breadwinners. Additionally, it distributed sacrificial meat during Eid al-Adha to support hundreds of underprivileged families and people with disabilities. Winter campaigns were also implemented to provide blankets to residents of informal settlements in Greater Cairo.
In 2021, the foundation’s activities became more diverse, combining economic empowerment and awareness initiatives. The “Chickens for Rural Women” initiative aimed to economically empower female breadwinners through poultry farming as a sustainable source of income. The “Don’t Be Afraid… Don’t Hide” campaign raised awareness about the risks of sexual harassment among girls, while the “Roof and Blanket… Shelter and Warmth” initiative improved housing conditions for poor families in villages across Giza and Upper Egypt. Socially, the “In Our Home, Fares” initiative provided psychological and social support to families of persons with disabilities and promoted their social inclusion.
In 2022, the foundation expanded its awareness work through the “Don’t Ride the Wave” initiative, focusing on educating youth about the dangers of irregular migration and human trafficking, reaching over 1,000 young men and women in the Nile Delta and Upper Egypt. Other social projects included the “Proud Breadwinners” initiative, supporting female heads of households, and the “Daughter of the Nile” initiative, which honored exemplary girls and encouraged continued education in remote villages.
Mishkati’s efforts were not limited to local activities. The foundation also pursued international cooperation, signing a cultural cooperation protocol with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Doha to enhance cultural exchange, as well as a protocol with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Cairo to collaborate on combating irregular migration and implementing joint awareness campaigns in Upper Egypt.
