Mishkati Foundation – 2020-2022 Initiatives

1. Charity Convoys and Campaigns

  • Period: 2020–2022

  • Locations: Villages and hamlets in Ismailia, Suez, Beni Suef, Shebin Al Qanater, Fayoum, Al Badrashein, 6th of October, Shubra, Al Matariya, Al Sawah, and nomadic Bedouin grazing areas.

  • Results: Provided food and in-kind aid to over 1,500 families, improving living conditions for the most vulnerable.

2. Free and Discounted Clothing Exhibitions

  • Period: Start of school years 2020 & 2021

  • Locations: Villages in Upper and Lower Egypt and Cairo suburbs

  • Results: Hundreds of poor families received new and good-quality used clothes for children before the school year.

3. Ramadan Food Boxes and Cash Aid

  • Period: Ramadan 2020 & 2021

  • Locations: Cairo suburbs and rural regions

  • Results: Provided Ramadan support for over 2,000 families, especially widows and female heads of households.

4. Distribution of Qurbani Meat (Eid al-Adha)

  • Period: Eid al-Adha 2020 & 2021

  • Locations: Villages in Upper and Lower Egypt, Cairo, and Giza suburbs

  • Results: Distributed meat to over 800 families, including orphans and persons with disabilities.

5. Winter Blanket Distribution

  • Period: Winter 2020 & 2021

  • Locations: Informal settlements in Greater Cairo

  • Results: Provided warmth for about 500 families living in harsh conditions.

6. “Chickens for Rural Women” Initiative

  • Period: 2021

  • Locations: Villages in Beni Suef, Fayoum, and Giza

  • Results: Enabled economic empowerment for around 100 female heads of households by distributing chickens and feed for poultry farming.

7. “Don’t Fear… Don’t Hide” Awareness Campaign

  • Period: Late 2021

  • Location: Greater Cairo

  • Results: Raised awareness about sexual harassment, organizing workshops in schools and community centers.

8. “Roof and Blanket… Shelter and Warmth” Initiative

  • Period: Winter 2021

  • Locations: Villages in Giza and Upper Egypt

  • Results: Improved housing conditions for poor families by providing insulation materials and winter blankets.

9. “A Hero in Our Home” Initiative

  • Period: 2021

  • Locations: Various areas in Cairo and Giza

  • Results: Offered psychosocial support for families with persons with disabilities and organized inclusive community activities.

10. Important Cooperation Protocols

  • Jan 2022: Cultural protocol with the Kazakhstan Embassy in Doha to enhance cultural exchange.

  • Nov 2021: Cooperation protocol with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Cairo to combat irregular migration.

  • May 2022: Joint IOM activity raising awareness about migration risks in Upper Egypt.

11. “Don’t Ride the Wave” Initiative

  • Period: 2022

  • Locations: Nile Delta and Upper Egypt

  • Results: Educated around 1,000 youth about the dangers of irregular migration and human trafficking through workshops, publications, and community meetings.

12. “Proud Providers” Initiative

  • Period: 2021

  • Locations: Villages in Giza

  • Results: Provided professional, social, and psychological support for female heads of households through monthly meetings and training.

13. “Daughter of the Nile” Initiative

  • Period: 2021

  • Locations: Remote villages in Upper Egypt

  • Results: Recognized the best female students and encouraged girls to continue their education.
